PENTICTON, B.C. — Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 15 and join Discovery House at Skaha Lake Park from Noon to 3 PM for a heartfelt and fun-filled Father’s Day celebration that brings families and the community together.
This cherished annual event is more than just a gathering — it’s a celebration of second chances, recovery, and the powerful bond between fathers and their families. Guests can look forward to a lineup of family-friendly activities, including great food, live music, games, and street hockey with community professionals. One of the day’s highlights? The always-popular Father’s Day Dunk Tank, featuring brave appearances from Discovery House staff, residents, and local community members.

“Our mission has always been to return fathers to their children and sons to their families,” says Blaine Russell, Executive Director of Discovery House. “This event is a meaningful way to honour the dedication of our residents in recovery while building lasting connections with the community that supports them.”
Since opening its doors in 2007, Discovery House has grown to operate three recovery residences in Penticton. With minimal government funding, the organization continues to thrive thanks to the incredible generosity of local donors and community champions.
“We’re proud to be part of a community that continues to show up with compassion and support,” adds Russell. “Addiction affects countless families. Events like this remind us that recovery is real — not just for the men doing the work, but for the children and families who get their loved ones back.”
