So it’s not a surprise the 38-year-old Penticton man hugs his little 10-month-old daughter Etta just a little tighter than when they were a family together not so long ago.

McKenzie now lives at Discovery House where he has spent several months slaying the demons who brought his soul to the very depths of hell.

My name is Joe. I spent one year as a client in Discovery House and learned a lot about myself. I currently have one year and one month clean from drugs & alcohol which is the longest time of sobriety I have had since I was 12 years old. Through Discovery House I was introduced to the 12 step fellowships of Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. I have built a support network of caring people who I consider family. I have learned to function as a human being.
