OUR HISTORY

Our Mission is to provide a safe, secure and supportive, holistic environment to men seeking recovery from addiction.

Our Vision is that no one person should have to anguish in addictions to alcohol and drugs. We treat those who may also suffer from mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health issues.. We provide clients with the life skills and recovery tools necessary to achieve freedom from active addiction and to live a healthy, productive life.

It is our belief that by focusing on the 12-step process of recovery our clients can bring harmony, meaning and empowerment to their lives. Furthermore, our clients have the opportunity to become productive, purposeful members of society and leave our facility with a passion for recovery, a sense of responsibility for their behaviour and it's impact on themselves, their families and their community.

How we do it?
We offer both in-house recovery programs as well as partner with Community Organizations to offer life skills training for our clients. We have been offering these tools to men for over 10 years and have seen over 300 men come through the doors of Discovery House.

We encourage a spirit of volunteerism as part of a healthy lifestyle both at the house and in the community while clients are in residence. As a result, we have a unique peer based support system, whereby clients who successfully complete our our program often return to the house as both volunteers and/or paid staff monitors or facilitators.
